  • Lawyer John Ray: Wife of Rex Heuermann was fully aware of the sex parties held at the house
  • Suffolk county police commissioner Rodney Harrison along side Attorney John Ray held a press conference announcing new details
  • Ellerup’s lawyer Robert Macedonio, said John Ray is a modern day Willy Wonka

Long Island lawyer John Ray claims to possess evidence suggesting the wife of accused Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann is not only aware of but complicit in the murders of at least three women found at Gilgo Beach.

“She should be considered a suspect and not just a bystander or someone who’s been victimized by her husband,” Ray said in an interview with local newspaper New York Daily News.

Attorney John Ray read a statement from the witness that was vetted my Mr. Ray and Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison. The bullet points from that statement are as follows

  1. Asa Ellerup is a swinger with Estranged Husband Rex Hummerman
  2. Ray said one witness, who said she met Heuermann at a Manhattan swinger’s club, went to Heuermann’s house for a sex party in February 1996 with her police officer boyfriend and Karen Vergata, earliest victim whose body parts were found at Gilgo Beach, NY after she went missing in February 1996. Heuermann’s wife was at the house when they arrived,
  3. The witness said that Vergata went downstairs and that Heuermann and her boyfriend vanished for a while.
  4. Before they left, Vergata “suddenly ran outside, naked, and ran about by the garage,” according to the affidavit. The witness said she never heard about Heuermann or Karen Vergata again until the architect was arrested in July .
  5. Asa Ellerup refused to have sex with the witness, presumably because the witness was black.

A second witness, according to another affidavit, a taxi driver, said she once saw Gilbert and Heuermann together when she picked her up in the fall of 2009.

She said she was dispatched to the Sayville Motor Lodge to pick up a female passenger who had “locked herself in a bathroom.” Shortly after she arrived a “very large man” ran out of the room and a woman entered her car “crying and shaking.”

She said she picked up Heuermann in her cab on another occasion, and he threatened to kill her. She said Heuermann was armed.

An attorney for Ellerup, Robert Macedonio, denied the allegations and said they were “outlandish.”

“This is a desperate attempt by Johnny Ray to remain relevant in a case where he’s been chasing his tail for the past 12 years,” Macedonio said. “It’s hard to take anyone seriously wearing a purple hat that looks more like an audition for a Willy Wonka movie than an attorney representing a victim.”

Police Commissioner Harrison said the task force is committed to investigating every lead.

“I want to make sure that people understand that we have a job here, as law enforcement, as the Suffolk County Police Department, to make sure we investigate every single complaint or interest in this case,” he said. “To make sure that we look under every single stone to see if there is any connection to Rex Heuermann, or if there is a connection to somebody else that may be involved with the bodies that were discovered on Ocean Parkway.”

Melissa Moore, the daughter of the happy face killer started a GoFund Me for Asa Elleup, deceiving the public and receive donations to fund her lifestyle and other expenses. Ms. Ellerup has conned the public out of $56,173 as of October 25th 2023. The morning of October 25th, a few donors retracted their donations for a loss of $20. That may seem like a small amount, however in the grand scheme of things,is this possible that is just the start of the chargebacks?

Attorney John Ray doesn’t mince his words when it comes to the recent GoFundMe set up for the accused’s family. His advice to potential donors was clear-cut, “It’s a foolish act to donate to people whose money is going to the tax authorities and you’re paying for the murderer’s tax liabilities.” Ray implied that any donation could indirectly support the alleged murderer’s liabilities.

Heuermann, 59, was arrested on July 13 and charged with the murders of three sex workers whose remains were discovered near Gilgo Beach in 2010 and 2011. The Manhattan architect and father of two is also the main suspect in the killing of a fourth person.

“She was in this tiny little home, where she lived and he lived. She was upstairs when he would be downstairs having sex with these prostitutes, and he spent enormous amounts of money on them,” Ray continued. “And it was a regular thing that happened.”

Ellerup’s attorney dismissed the allegations and denied any link to the heinous killings.

GoFundMe should at the very least shut down the account and refund money to all donors scammed and conned along with a public apology. NY Journals has reached out to GoFundMe for comment. We have not heard back

“I have a witness, a very credible witness, who I spent many hours with to interview,” Ray said. “And from that witness, as well as from the circumstances of this case, I know that Mrs. Ellerup is conning the public right now.”
